We have an opportunity for a Deputy Clinical Services Manager to join their team of staff in the Physiotherapy department.

This is a Part time role for 22.5 hours a week. The successful post holder will work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, with weekend work as part of a 7 day working rota. They will be expected to be part of an on-call rota for respiratory patients and the occasional orthopaedic call out.

As Deputy Clinical Services Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of inpatient physiotherapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapy assistants and bank speech and language therapists and assist in management of the lung physiology team.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Chartered Physiotherapist.
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Knowledge of CSP and HCPC Codes and guidelines and their implications for practice.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Good team player.
    Results driven, possessing a proven track record of delivering against targets.
  • Knowledge of the Care Standards Act and Care and Quality Commission Requirements.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance tools.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, including risk management.
  • Degree level educated, or equivalent.
  • Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.

Duties of this role include:

  • To deputise for the Clinical Services Manager - Physiotherapy and take an active role in the management and daily running of the physiotherapy department.   Working clinically to support the department promote and ensure excellent patient care.
  • To provide clinical direction and leadership for the physiotherapy staff in the Hospital.
  • Provide physiotherapy assessment and treatment in relevant department, participating in patients’ pre-admission and follow-up care where appropriate.
  • To organise the inpatient physiotherapy rotas, weekend and on-call cover ensuring that at all times there is adequate cover within the department
