We have an opportunity for a Head of Data Platforms to join the IT Department.
As the Head of Azure Data Platforms, you'll be at the forefront of a thrilling digital transformation journey. Your mission is to orchestrate and propel our data ecosystem to new heights, harnessing the power of Microsoft Azure. This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of Azure data services, such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, etc.
- Understanding of data governance, compliance, and security best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Relevant Azure certifications are desirable.Proven experience in managing data platforms on Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with data modelling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
- Experience leading and managing high performing teams.
- Healthcare datasets experience is desirable
- Strong leader / mentor / collaborator
- Strategic / analytical thinker
- Motivated, confident, adaptable, and independent individual with a strong willingness to learn and grow.
- Excellent MS Office skills
- Project management experience
- Full Clean UK Driver’s License
- Willing to travel frequently to our Head Office in London.
Duties of this role include:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive data platform strategy aligned with the organisation's business goals and objectives.
- Evaluate and recommend data services and technologies to optimise data infrastructure.
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and matrix management of project and vendor resources.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Oversee the implementation of scalable and high-performance data platform built on Microsoft Azure.
- Ensure data platform solutions are reliable, secure, and compliant with data regulations.
- Data models follow best practices such as Kimball Data Warehouse and we have a single version of the truth.
- Manage data integration pipelines, ETL processes, and data transformation workflows.
- Develop and manage the budget for the data platforms, ensuring cost control and optimisation.
