We have an opportunity for a Health and Safety Environmental Lead to join either our team of staff across three of our sites, you will split your working week between our Lincoln, Park and Thornbury Hospitals.
This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover either 9 till 5 or 8 till 4.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent
- H&S professional registration (IOSH) or willingness to apply for professional registration
- Fire safety skills
- Ability to interpret relevant health and safety legislation, Approved Codes of Practice and guidance and to advice managers on a range of health and safety matters.
- Risk Assessor experience
- RCA / Incident investigation skill
- Contractor Management skills
- Experience undertaking audits
- Good IT skills
- Knowledge of Environmental legislation and standards
Duties of this role include:
- To advise and assist the Senior Management Teams (SMT), interpret and meet obligations under applicable Health & Safety Acts, regulations and guidance.
- To support and advice the SMT on promoting a strong health and safety culture throughout the Hospitals.
- To support the facility in demonstrating an appropriate level of compliance with relevant health and safety standards to our regulators i.e., the CQC, HSE, EA, local government agents and interested parties.
- To manage environmental risk effectively across the site ensuring compliance with all related legislation and CHG policy
- To champion environmental management, continually improving performance
