Health, Safety and Environmental Lead
Full Time – Permanent

We have an opportunity for a Health, Safety and Environmental Lead to join our team of staff.
This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern and will be required to travel between the three hospitals above.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Operational experience in a Health & Safety.
H&S management experience. - Experience of Undertaking a range of Risk Assessments.
- Contractor safety management experience.
- Training and presenting experience.
- Level 3 qualification in H&S Management or willingness to complete recognised qualification.
- H&S professional registration (IOSH) or willingness to apply for professional registration.
- Fire safety skills.
- Ability to interpret relevant health and safety legislation, Approved Codes of Practice and guidance and to advice managers on a range of health and safety matters.
- Risk Assessor experience.
- RCA / Incident investigation skill.
- Contractor Management skills.
- Experience undertaking audits.
Duties of this role include:
- You advise and assist the Senior Management Team (SMT), interpret and meet obligations under applicable Health & Safety Acts, regulations and guidance.
- You support and advise the SMT on promoting a strong health and safety culture throughout the Hospital.
- You support the facility in demonstrating an appropriate level of compliance with relevant health and safety standards to our regulators i.e., the CQC, HIS, HIW, HSE, EA, local government agents and interested parties.
- You manage environmental risk effectively across the site ensuring compliance with all related legislation and CHG policy.
- You champion environmental management, continually improving performance.
- You escalate inadequately controlled H&S risks to the Operational Manager/Director and to make recommendations for improvement such as relating to car park, water and asbestos safety etc.
