Salary: Up to £47,000 plus benefits (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Lead Theatre Practitioner - Anaesthetics to join their team of staff in the Theatre department. 

This role will responsible for leading and developing our team of Anaesthetics Practitioners ensuring the safe delivery of patient care. The post holder will gain new/further experience in specialist surgeries, co-ordinate lists, maintain/continuously improve patient services and be a leader for clinical governance. 

There will be many opportunities for professional growth and personal development, all fully funded and supported by Circle Health Group. We have an on-site Practice Based Educator to support with continuous development and training needs as well as, a nationwide network of Educators and Learning & Development Practitioners.

This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours per week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern, including weekdays and some Saturdays. The department operates Monday - Friday (8am-6pm) with one late day per week until 9pm with a short Saturday morning list.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Minimum 3 year experience in coordination, ordering, first assistant, mentor, over view of leading other.
  • First surgical assistant certificate
  • Additional skills in recovery and anaesthetics.
  • ILS.
  • Mentorship qualification
  • Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
  • Experience of customer care, including interacting with customers in challenging situations.
  • The department requires skilled and experienced practitioner
  • Lead Anaesthetic Practitioner with at least 2 years in a Senior role, must be a good communicator, organised and be able to manage the anaesthetic team, providing support, knowledge and skills.

Duties of this role include:

  • To deliver safe quality care for patients during their perioperative phase of care.  To support and assist in the management and organisation of care provision within the Operating Department.
  • To lead and manage a team, coordinating staff training needs and resource requirements within a peri-operative function or surgical specialty.
  • Assist in the delivery of patient care.
  • Contribute to quality improvement.
  • Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self.
  • Apply and promote best evidence based practice within own scope of practice.
  • Apply legislation, policies and procedures correctly.
  • Maintain knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act. Ensuring appropriate measures are taken in respect of Health and Safety for patients, relatives, visitors, hospital staff and contractors.
  • Achieve agreed objectives and demonstrating CHG behaviours at all time.
  • Assemble, check and prepare the appropriate surgical equipment, instruments, and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures.
