Are you a dedicated and skilled oncology nurse looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients? Circle Health Group is seeking an oncology bank nurse to join our team at the Albyn Hospital in Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom.

As a bank nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to patients undergoing cancer treatment. Your compassion, expertise, and attention to detail will help ensure that each patient receives personalised care tailored to their specific needs.

Located on Albyn Place in Aberdeen, The Albyn Hospital offers state-of-the-art facilities and a supportive team environment.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence. This position is available starting immediately, with shifts predominantly on Tuesdays 12:00-18:00 and Wednesday 08:30-17:00, to cover annual leave and sickness, offering a competitive rate of pay.

As an Oncology - Bank Nurse, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing and monitoring the physical and emotional well-being of cancer patients
  • Administering chemotherapy medications and other treatments as prescribed
  • Providing education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and side effects
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation


To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A valid nursing license and certification in oncology nursing
  • It is essential to have up-to-date SACT training and competencies. 
  • Previous experience working with cancer patients in a hospital setting
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact compassionately with patients and families
  • The capacity to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and empathy
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of oncology nursing
