We have an opportunity for a Buyer to join our Procurement Department based in our Head Office in London Cannon Street. 

This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern that can include early mornings or late evenings when required. 

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • A Level or Equivalent (A-C)
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Strong numerical skills (including data analysis and modelling)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (including presentations and reports)
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Interest in healthcare, data analysis, contract drafting, report drafting would be beneficial

Duties of this role include:

  • Develop sourcing strategies for all relevant spend categories focusing on indirect related spend (primarily hard and soft FM, business services, non-clinical products, infrastructure)
  • Undertake various administrative activities to ensure effective functioning of the team and the business: supporting invoice reconciliation; database management; obtaining data from internal stakeholder and suppliers and building datasets; developing and maintaining category management datasets; drafting, negotiating and managing contracts
  • Reactive support to stakeholders to resolve issues in the BAU operation of services
  • Undertake detailed spend analysis considering various spend types (e.g. capex/ opex) and timeframes to determine overall commercial value
  • To plan and project manage the on time in full delivery of savings projects working collaboratively with key stakeholders
  • Execute end to end tendering process, including drafting tender requirements and specifications and commercial negotiations
  • Develop presentations and communication documents (market analysis documents, options appraisals, contract announcements) to present to key stakeholders
  • Supplier contract management (operational and commercial, ensuring billing is correct and suppliers are complying with KPIs)
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Prepare savings report for relevant categories by working with the Procurement Business Analyst
  • Commitment to ensuring quality services are delivered to both internal and external stakeholders through continuous improvement activities.
  • Compliance with all Policies and Procedures relevant to your role, ensuring you are fully aware of your responsibilities within these policies.
  • To demonstrate awareness of regulatory requirements, taking appropriate action to ensure these requirements are implemented and adhered to.
  • To be aware of your responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. To ensure you are aware of your responsibilities, supporting policies and undertake the appropriate level of training for your role.
  • To ensure appropriate measures are taken in respect of Health and Safety for staff, visitors, and contractors.
