Assistant Practitioner - Cardiology

Salary: Up to £26,550.00 per year

The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle Is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. 

We have an opportunity for a Assistant Practitioner to join their team of staff in the Cardiology department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience of customer care, including interacting with customers in challenging situations.
  • Previous experience working within the acute healthcare sector.
  • Assistant Practitioner Foundation Degree (Level 5) or equivalent.
  • Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.

Duties of this role include:

  • Ambulatory ECG hook up.
  • ECG recording 
  • Supporting ETT 
  • Booking of Cardiology appointments, both non-invasive and Cath lab
  • Ensuring the department is adequately stocked
  • Maintaining specialist equipment
  • Liaise with ward staff for inpatient appointments.
  • Maintain a safe, tidy environment for patients including cubicles and waiting 
  • areas/needs/preparation.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions as per Circle protocol. 
  • Maintain adequate stock levels for consumable items, in collaboration with the department stock controller.
  • Be able to use a range of IT systems including Ultragenda, Maxims and PACS to record patient attendance, make appointments and software to upload reports.
  • Ensuring good communication with Cardiac physiologists and Consultants regarding day to day work activities
