Clinical Placement Facilitator

Salary: Up to £36,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Clinical Placement Facilitator to join their team of staff in the People Development department.

This pivotal role supports the coordination and delivery of high-quality student placements across our clinical services, ensuring a positive and safe learning experience for all learners.

You will act as a key link between clinical teams, education providers, and learners, helping to plan, monitor, and evaluate placements. Your work will directly support compliance with NHS contract requirements for education and training, while contributing to workforce development and sustainability.

Please note this position requires you to be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

  • Student Placement Management
  • Act as the main liaison between the Corporate Education Team, universities, and placement providers for all student placement matters.
  • Coordinate and manage placement logistics, including block dates, allocation lists, timetables, learner attendance, and monitoring.
  • Establish clear communication channels to keep all parties informed of placement arrangements, timelines, and expectations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date digital records of placement information, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.
  • Relationship Building and Communication
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders involved in the placement process.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with CHG departments used by learners, ensuring smooth coordination and resolving any placement-related challenges.
  • Act as the first point of contact for learners regarding placement matters, providing day-to-day assistance, answering queries, and offering guidance.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Current NMC registration
  • Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
  • Practice Assessor/Mentorship Qualification
  • Maths and English GCSE at level 4 or equivalent or functional skills level 2.
  • Experience in clinical education, workforce planning, or placement coordination is desirable.
