Circle Decontamination - Radlett

Overview

Circle Health Group Decontamination is responsible for the provision of sterile equipment and instrumentation for use in surgical and interventional procedures in hospitals across the Southeast of England. The unit operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week with rotating shifts covering days and nights as required.

We have an opportunity for a Driver to join their team of staff in the Decontamination department based in St Albans

This is a Part time role for 30 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Salary: Up to £23,166.00 per annum

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Valid driving license for the UK with a clean driving record. Every employee driving on behalf of the business must submit their driving license on an annual basis for a DVLA check. Drivers must hold a clean B license to operate vans up to and including 3.5t.
  • General qualifications required are a willingness to learn/develop and be flexible at all times
  • The ability to undertake lifting duties as required
  • Experience of using a tail lift and driving long wheel based vans
  • Must be able to work both nights and days

Duties of this role include:

  • To provide reliable and courteous delivery / pick-up service to CHG Hospital Decontamination customers with safety a top priority; to provide a communication link between customers and the unit workforce (where necessary and appropriate); to operate and maintain assigned vehicle(s); and to maintain vehicle and any other assigned records. Specifically:
  • To work under the direction of the Team Leader Logistics and Senior staff.
  • To provide a service by collecting ‘dirty’ trolleys from hospitals and clinics, delivering them to the St Albans unit facility and returning ‘clean’ trolleys with sterilized trays back to the hospitalsClinics.
  • Carrying other packages or goods between hospitals or units as required.
  • To provide a first-class decontamination sterile service to the Operating Theatres, nursing departments and any relevant paramedical departments. Cleaning and other duties as required.
  • To assist the production staff with supporting duties including stores management
  • To maintain good working relationships with all customers at all times internal and external to CHG
  • To promote and maintain Health & Safety at all times
  • To wear the company uniform as provided
  • To be flexible and adaptable at all time to the unit’s needs
  • To assist in the Inspection and Packing room as required
  • To work variable hours Monday to Sunday.
