We have an opportunity for a Radiographer to join their team of staff in the Imaging department.
This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence. Successful candidate must be available for Wednesday shifts from 13:00 - 18:30.
Duties of this role include:
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols.
- Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures.
- Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination.
- Accurately identify patients using approved safety checks and ensure consent is gained before procedures.
- Comply with IR(ME)R regulations, local rules, and departmental safety protocols to ensure safe radiation practices.
- Assist in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques, and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
- HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
- Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment.
- Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
