Registered Nurse - Ophthalmic Practitioner

Salary: Up to £33,150.00 FTE per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Ophthalmic Practitioner to join their team of staff, based primarily in Willesden.
This is a part- time role for 22 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of this role include:
- Co-ordinate the outpatient ophthalmic services and support a seamless patient pathway, providing support, and act as a resource to staff of all levels, and develop nursing practice in the delivery of care to ophthalmic patients, through innovative strategies. To work as part of a team, to promote, deliver and maintain high standards of nursing, meeting the needs of Team members, Patients and Consultants.
- Support the team to deliver care that helps improve the health of the individual and wider community.
- Support the team in demonstrating compassion through effective relationships based on empathy, respect and dignity.
- Develop own competence to deliver effective care and treatments through improving clinical/technical knowledge / skill, and expertise.
- Communicate appropriately with others involved in the care of the patient.
- Act as an advocate for safeguarding patients, demonstrate courage to speak up when there are concerns about care.
- Demonstrate commitment to improving care and the patient experience.
- To promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of patients, relatives and visitors.
- To lead a team of staff including Consultants, Registered Nurses, HCAs & Administration workforce.
- Delivery of individualised patient care.
- Responsible for care planning.
What we are looking for:
- Evidence of degree level study or equivalent.
- Evidence of relevant clinical professional development preferably evidenced by certification RN with valid NMC Registration.
- Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
- Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
- No qualifications needed, training will be provided.
