We have an opportunity for a Senior Physiotherapy Assistant to join their team of staff in the Physiotherapy Department.

This is a part time role for 20 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Previous experience within a Healthcare environment.
  • Evidence of physiotherapy specific competencies.
  • Able to reassure patients in varying situations and encourage them to undertake their exercise programmes.
  • Able to assess patient’s comfort, and adapt behaviour in line with this assessment.
  • Minimum 2 years inpatient orthopaedic and general surgery experience

    Duties of this role include:

    • Support the team to deliver care that helps improve the health of the individual and wider community.
    • Demonstrate commitment to improving care and the patient experience.
    • Assist in the mentorship and development of Physiotherapy Assistants.
    • Ensure a tidy and safe working environment, including cleaning, simple maintenance and safe storage of equipment and walking aids.
    • Participate in aquatic service as required.
    • Participate in pre-operative assessment as required.
    • Participate in clinical treatment under the supervision of the physiotherapist.
    • Book outpatient physiotherapy appointments and manage the physiotherapy appointment system accurately and efficiently.
