Specialist Nurse - Breast Cancer

We have an opportunity for a Specialist Nurse to join their team of staff in the Oncology department.
This is a full- time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of this role include:
Providing information and support: helping patients understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and the potential side effects of treatment for both medical and surgical oncology, offering emotional support and guidance to patients and their families.
Coordinating care: ensuring that patients receive the necessary support and services from various specialists.
Patient advocacy: ensuring patient receive the best possible care and support
Lymphedema care: provide care and management for this condition.
Providing follow-up support ensuring that people with breast cancer receive follow-up and personalized support while waiting for a diagnosis after a screening mammogram, addressing their anxiety and information needs following attendance at the one stop clinic
Personalised care and support planning: engage in personalized care and support planning addressing patients individual needs and concerns, providing tailored information and support. providing clear and accessible information, helping patients make informed decisions about their treatment.
Support the patient experience improvement projects: contributing to a more positive and supportive experience
Providing emotional support: crucial to people navigating the emotional challenges of cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based care within your area of specialism, acting as a clinical expert and role model.
Support assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of patients with complex or long-term conditions.
Contribute to the development and implementation of care pathways and protocols based on national guidelines and best practice.
Provide education, support, and counselling to patients and families, empowering them to understand and manage their health conditions.
Act as a key contact for patients, ensuring consistent, coordinated care throughout their treatment journey.
Signpost to additional services and resources to support holistic care.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
Registered Nurse (Adult, Child, or Mental Health, depending on specialty) with valid NMC registration.
Significant post-registration experience in the relevant specialty area.
Demonstrable specialist knowledge and advanced clinical skills within a defined field.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
